ABSTRACT: Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that uses communication via radio waves to exchange data between a reader and an electronic tag attached to an object, for the purpose of identification and tracking. The paper introduces the RFID technology and discusses topics such as the history of RFID, the different components involved in RFID, the physics involved… Read More »
A growing recognition of the need to modernize the grid to meet tomorrows challenges has found articulation in the vision of a Smart Grid. The essence of this vision is a fully-automated power delivery network that can ensure a two-way flow of electricity and information between the power plants and appliances and all points in between.
A microcontroller is a microprocessor that controls everyday appliances such as microwaves and wristwatches. The micro kits used by computer engineering classes use a Motorola HC11 microcontroller for all of the processing. The HC11 microkits have 8 input switches, a single interrupt request button (IRQ), 8 output LEDs, and a two-line liquid crystal display (LCD).
Current authentication systems suffer from many weaknesses. With all the means of technology developing, it can be very easy for ‘others’ to fabricate or to steal identity or to hack someones password. Users nowadays are provided with major password stereotypes such as textual passwords, biometric scanning, tokens or cards (such as an ATM).
Crawling movement as a motive mode seen in nature of some animals such as snakes possesses a specific syntactic and dynamic analysis. Serpentine robot designed by inspiration from nature and snakes crawling motion, is regarded as a crawling robot. In this article, a serpentine robot with spiral motion model will be analyzed. The purpose of this analysis is to calculate the vertical and tangential forces along snakes body and to determine the parameters affecting on these forces.
An image retrieval system is a computer system for browsing, searching and retrieving images from a large database of digital images. Most traditional and common methods of image retrieval utilize some method of adding metadata such as captioning, keywords, or descriptions to the images so thatretrieval can be performed over the annotation words.
